FROM THE SHELL TO THE FLAME
Pecan character.
Your way to smoke.
Pecan shells, pecan kernels and a hint of coffee come together in Hull & Husk Pecan Shell Cooking Pellets. Explore the pellet format, then discover the separate charcoal-use method for our smoking shells and nibs.
Using the product.
What makes these pellets different?
Pecan shells, pecan kernels and a hint of coffee form the blend. The smoke profile is rich and buttery, with sweet pecan notes, gentle nuttiness and a clean, smooth finish.
Using the cooking pellets
The pellet directions describe three uses: mix with existing cooking pellets to enhance the smoke profile; use on their own for full pecan flavor; or sprinkle over hot charcoal for a rich, smoky finish. Consult your appliance instructions for fuel suitability and operation. Do not assume every appliance accepts every fuel.
Smoking shells & nibs: a separate method
The sample packs introduce three flavors: Pecan Smoking Shells, with balanced Southern smoke and a sweet, nutty finish; Rosemary Pecan Smoking Nibs, with savory, herbal notes, bright citrus and mild sweetness; and Coffee & Clove Smoking Nibs, with an earthy character and a sweet holiday-spice finish.
PUT IT INTO PRACTICE
The BGE sample-pack method
- 1
Bring your EGG to cooking temperature.
- 2
Add food to the cooking grid.
- 3
Sprinkle 1/4 cup (60 mL) of the smoking shells or nibs through the cooking grid onto a heat deflector or the edge of hot coals. Do not put the product on food.
- 4
Add shells or nibs throughout the cook to build layers of flavor. The sample packs state that no soaking or preparation is required.
Read the pack before cooking
The sample shells and nibs are for outdoor charcoal cooking, not for lighting fires or for eating. Do not sprinkle them onto food. The pecan sample-pack warning advises people with tree-nut allergies to avoid the product, its smoke and foods prepared using it. Read the complete warning on the exact blend. Follow the product label and your appliance’s fuel and operating instructions.
ASSOCIATE QUICK START
Be ready for the aisle.
“These cooking pellets are made with pecan shells, pecan kernels and a hint of coffee for a sweet, nutty smoke profile. What kind of grill or smoker are you using? That helps us match the product format to the right directions.”
Ask before recommending
- What grill or smoker are you using?
- Are you shopping for cooking pellets or a charcoal-applied smoking product?
- Which package or flavor are you considering?
Three things to remember
- Lead with the actual blend: shells, kernels and coffee—not pecan wood.
- Keep cooking pellets separate from the BGE smoking shells and nibs.
- The sample-pack 1/4-cup method is not a cooking-pellet dosage.
