Safety & Prep

  • Food vs. non-food uses: Only store food or water if the bucket is clearly food-safe (HDPE “2” + food-contact symbol). H&H Buckets are safe, once cleaned.

  • Clean & deodorize: Hot water + mild soap → rinse → 1 tbsp baking soda per gallon overnight if odors remain. Air-dry fully.

  • Ash caution: Only store completely cold ash. If unsure, don’t use the bucket for ash.

  • Modding tips: Pre-drill before adding screws; deburr holes; add a gasketed/gamma-seal lid for water-tight uses.

  • Load & stability: Don’t stand on a bucket unless the lid is rated as a seat/step. Keep away from children.

  • No pressure/heat: Never use as a pressure vessel, fuel container, or near open flame.
